Wilderness First Responder Course
May 2nd - 10th, 2024
Train on the Kenai Peninsula with the oldest continuously operating wilderness medical school worldwide! SOLO’s Wilderness First Responder course is for those who work as backcountry trip leaders, camp counselors, mountain guides, river guides, and ski patrollers. This is 3-year certification through SOLO, which focuses on evaluation, treatment, and rescue for backcountry medical situations.
The course is an in-depth look at standards and skills dealing with: Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies, Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies. Additional topics, such as CPR, are also included.
SOLO’s wilderness first responder course is led by Dorothy Adler, MLSt, instructor and owner of Wilderness Emergency Medical Education, LLC.
Minimum age limit is 16 years old.
This is a 72-80 hour course held over 8 days, on a 9am-6pm schedule.

- May 7-10: Completion of Training
$1,300/person
