Workshops
The Challenger Learning Center of Alaska offers a variety of science workshops that integrate space sceince, mathematics, technology, problem solving, and teamwork. These programs can be tailored to your group's interests or needs, and offer exciting hands- and minds-on activities for all ages. Additionally, CLCA's workshops are adaptable to a multitude of age and grade levels.
Cost: $275 per workshop. Limited to 32 students per workshop.
All Workshops can be set up to be performed on location, at your school or facility.
*Astronomy: This workshop can be done with or without our inflatable StarLab** planetarium. Students will explore the Milky Way and it's constellations, as well as a brief history of Roman and Greek mythology pertaining to these constellations.

Atmospheric Science: This is a world-wide, hands-on program that lets students observe and understand the complex interactions and components of global weather as well as different ways that NASA looks at weather.
Flight: Students study the theory and dynamics of flight by constructing simple projects.
Light and Energy: Students learn what light is, where it comes from, and how spectroscopes help scientists study the universe. They also discover - through investigation - how light and energy are related.
Living in Space: Students learn about the living conditions of astronauts, and what effects Microgravity has on the human body.
Rocketry: Students will learn the history, development, and mechanics behind rockets! They achieve this by building and launching paper rockets from our air-powered PVC Rocket Launch Pad.
Simple Machines: Students get a visual investigation and hands-on application of how simple machines work.
